Who We Are

Don’t Do It Yourself (DDIY) is a non profit organization that was established in 2013. DDIY has a mission to help people in Baraga, Houghton, and Keweenaw Counties with financial hardship caused by medical hardship.

The plan to accomplish this mission is to collaborate with other organizations in Baraga, Houghton, and Keweenaw Counties and to fund raise inside and outside the communities.

The plan to achieve this mission has been set by the board of DDIY consisting of 8 members of the community. The board has a clear vision of what DDIY will become. It will become an emergency funding source for the people of Baraga, Houghton, and Keweenaw Counties who are facing any kind of financial hardship due to medical hardship. Funds will be raised through solicitation and online donations. Volunteer efforts, community support, and donations through various planned efforts will be the long term plan for funding DDIY. We believe that DDIY will be duplicated in other counties as we grow and help people in Baraga, Houghton, and Keweenaw Counties.

Medical bills can get overwhelming especially when you are too sick to work to pay your bills. We can help!

The board is made up of volunteer efforts. No one is paid.

DDIY will be measured on its success by the community and the families it helps. The board believes that the community will embrace what DDIY’s mission is and through monetary and volunteer efforts DDIY will be able to help numerous families in Baraga, Houghton, and Keweenaw Counties.

The impact on lives that will be touched, through financial contributions to people in need, and the volunteers that help will have a priceless impact on the communities that we live in. These combined efforts will inevitably make DDIY’s mission stronger and known throughout Baraga, Houghton, and Keweenaw Counties and beyond.
